Panopto is a lecture capture application initially developed by Carnegie Mellon designed for capturing, editing, and streaming audio and video from presentations to the Web. RWU has a site license for Panopto that allows faculty or students to easily create a narrated PowerPoint video, a screencast of anything on a computer screen with audio, or a video stream from a webcam (or any other video source attached to their computer like a document camera) into a video that can then be shared with students either within a Bridges course, a faculty website or even via e-mail.
Panopto Mobile lets you access all of your organization’s video content from your iPhone or iPad. View HD video presentations, lectures, training courses and events. Search inside your videos to find any keyword or topic. And record video presentations using your built-in camera. Learn anywhere. W. Panopto is a video platform teachers can use to create course materials. Teachers can create asynchronous materials like video recordings, lecturing with PowerPoint or Keynote, and other video inputs like document cameras. Live streaming is also available for synchronous lecture capture and one-way audio/video delivery to students. Pros: Integrates well with our learning management system, easy to use recorder software and web interface, simple sharing of videos, no plugins/downloads needed to play videos in a web browser. Cons: The Panopto Recorder software can be a little buggy and fail to upload videos. Overall: We primarily use Panopto for lecture capture and use in.
Videos created externally (for example using a smartphone or other video recording software) may also be uploaded to Panopto to be streamed online. Podcasts can be created on Panopto or served from Panopto as well. Free vpn for mac download.
RWU faculty and students can download and install the Panopto recorder locally on their home or office computer (Mac or Windows) at no cost. Videos can be created on a local computer and then uploaded to a folder on the Panopto streaming server so that it can be processed and delivered digitally. Videos can be viewed directly from the Panopto tool from a Bridges course menu or viewed from a personal or topical folder on the Panopto server. Free download game gta indonesia di komputer.
There are two different ways for faculty to use Panopto - either through your Bridges Home page (recommended) or in a Bridges course site (if you don't see the Panopto tool in your course, you will need to activate it, see below.)
I. Using Panopto through Bridges
You should now see the Panopto tool appended to the bottom of your course menu on the left. This activation also creates a course folder on the Panopto server to hold any videos you create and also activates your user account on the server. (Note that if you have used Panopto in the past, this process creates a totally different account for you.)
Recording from your Bridges Home Page or from a Bridges Course

Note: If you haven't installed the recorder on your computer, click on the Download Installer button that corresponds to your operating system - i.e. Download Windows or Download Mac. This will activate a wizard that will proceed to download the recorder to your local computer and install it (note that this only needs to be done once). Also, when you do this for the first time, the Recorder will open automatically. You will need to close the Recorder and click on the Create button (step 3 above) once more to authenticate yourself in the Recorder.
Student Video Assignments
If you would like your students to create videos for your course you can also add an Assignment folder within the Panopto course folder (the Assignment folder will be a subfolder). Students would then go into the Bridges course - click on the Panopto tool from the course menu, select the Assignment folder and then click on the Create button. The recordings will then show up in the course Assignment folder and be visible to the instructor.
To create an Assignments folder in your course Panopto folder:
Note if you want your students to see other students recordings, you will have to make one additional configuration change. Go into the Assignment folder you just created and click on the little gray gear in the upper right, click on Settings, and check off the box for 'Allow viewers to see each other's sessions,'and then X out of the box.
See these instructions for uploading and sharing your video recording. Once your video recording has been uploaded and encoded you may also copy the link and paste it into an email message to be shared.
